Looking for alternatives to the “same old” exercise routine?
Here are some ideas:
-
Nude Yoga – To the surprise of many, these classes do exist. Some are single-sex while others are, you guessed it - co-ed. This one isn’t everyone’s idea of a great group workout, but some people believe it helps them relax even further. There’s of course nothing stopping you from doing this alone in the comfort of your own home, but if you do decide to reveal everything in a group session, bringing your own mat would be advised.
-
Skijoring – If you are a dog owner who likes to get out on skis in the winter, this could be a great option. All you do is strap your dog into a harness and let him/her pull you while you cross-country ski. Not only is it great exercise and fresh air, but it is also an extra chance to bond with your pet.
-
Karaoke Spin Class – If spinning isn’t hard enough (or entertaining enough) for you, why not add some singing to the mix. Sometimes called “cycle karaoke”, participants are claiming that singing while cycling has helped them control their breathing while also providing indicators of how intensely they are working out. So if you can easily hit the long, high-note then you know you need to crank things up a notch!
-
Ganja Yoga – Yep, you read that correctly. This is a ‘cannabis-assisted’ yoga session. Despite the obvious controversy surrounding this particular brand of yoga, advocates of the practise suggest that they feel more centered and focused with this type of assistance. It does exist in Canada and but is often limited to ‘members only’ access.
-
Walking On Water– Walking on water is now possible for everybody! Picture yourself trapped in a big, water-tight, clear plastic ball. Put this ball (with you in it) on water and you’ll soon be walking on the water’s surface. You are also guaranteed to feel a great deal of muscle soreness the day after – because as the ball starts to spin, it takes a full body workout just to keep yourself from falling.
